II. Copy Writing

The word “text” is derived from Latin “textus” which means fabric or braiding. A freelancer, be it a journalist or a copy wirter has to weave the text into a neat pattern. This isn’t always easy, but for some people (like me) it’s lots of fun!

I offer long and short copy texts, newsletter texts and press releases. Well, basically I write every kind of text. Here are some examples of different kins of situations where a professional writer is needed:

Marketing and Advertising Texts

Long and short copy texts are quite different from other texts. they have to be extremely attractive to please the audience. A general interest and the ability to balance word against word are absolutely necessary.

Press Releases

Press releases are informative texts. A press release should be wirtten in a neutrale tone and you always have to keep in mind that the journalist has to buy it. He chooses only what he thinks best for his audience so you have to be very careful with stilish elements and adertising words when you write a press release.

Texts for Websites

When it comes to texts, websites should be treated like flyers. They have to give the information quick and in an interesting manner, otherwise the audience loses interest fast. But remember that search engines want a certain amount of text on the website… which makes writing for websites sometimes pretty difficult.
